Traditional uses
- ·Insomnia, anxiety, mental tension
- ·Hair fall and premature greying
- ·Shirodhara for stress and Pitta
- ·Daily Shiroabhyanga (head massage) in summer
How it is taken
External: 5–15 ml warmed and massaged into the scalp at night or 1 hour before a warm shower.
Avoid in
- ✕Open scalp wounds, active dandruff infection
- ✕Severe Kapha congestion of the head (use Anu Taila instead)
Allergies
Sesame or coconut oil base.
Classical alternatives
Bhringraj Taila for hair-focused use; Ksheerabala for combined head + body application.

Persistent or severe symptoms, pregnancy, children under 12, anyone on prescription medication, and any new or worsening condition should be reviewed by a qualified clinician (GP or vaidya) before starting Brahmi Taila. External use only in this form.
