Overnight Raisin & Fennel Hotel Soak

Fennel · Green cardamom · Coriander seed (optional)
A cooling overnight infusion you can build in a hotel glass before bed. By morning it is a sweet, hydrating, gently laxative breakfast that calms acid reflux, hot-weather irritability and the dehydration of long-haul flights.

Ingredients
- ·10 black or golden raisins (unsulphured if possible)
- ·1 tsp whole fennel seeds, lightly bruised
- ·1 cup cool filtered or bottled still water
- ·Optional: 2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- ·Optional: 1 tsp rose water in the morning
Method
- 01Before bed, place raisins, fennel and cardamom in a clean glass or travel bottle; add the water.
- 02Cover loosely and leave at room temperature overnight (6–8 hours).
- 03In the morning, sip the infusion slowly and chew the soaked raisins one by one.
- 04Stir in rose water for extra cooling if available.
Nutrition notes
Per serving (≈): 90 kcal · 1 g protein · 22 g carbs · 0 g fat · 2 g fiber. Natural fructose plus potassium replenishes flight-day hydration; fennel anethole is anti-spasmodic and cooling.
Serving notes
A glass jam jar or a 250 ml screw-top travel bottle works perfectly. Carry raisins and fennel in a single zip-bag through security.
Practitioner note
If you tend toward constipation on travel days, increase to 15 raisins. Skip if you have active diarrhoea.
